R.I.P dearest DOUGHNUT

my last remaining hammie DOUGHNUT passed away last night while sleeping in his home. he was the fattest hammie i've ever seen but lately due to old age, he lost some weight. he was always seen eating non stop like the picture above lying down and enjoyed munching away so that he can relax on his back instead of his little legs. usually he ate while half sleeping and then doze off halfway eating making him obese. i will always miss him dearly. Now he has gone over the rainbow to join his parents DINO & DUFFY and younger brother DUMPLING.

R.I.P dearest DINO

last night on the 5th of march, 2013, exactly after 9 months, DUMPLING's demise, his daddy DINO finally joined him over the rainbow after suffering from 2 attacks of tumour around his mouth for the last 5 months. we took him to the vet to remove the 1st tumour which grew outside his mouth which was as big as a raisin but a second relapse occurred again and this time it was a growth inside his mouth. he was very skinny and most of his fur dropped off due to the tumour which made him harder to eat. he was a great survivor and lived on soft diet like hamster jello, soft fresh corn and tiny linseed and vitamin drink as he couldn't chew on his favourite sunflower seed anymore. we didn't expected him to outlived his wife, DUFFY which passed away 3 weeks ago as he was extremely fragile. he couldn't see properly when he was feeding as his eyesight was deteriorating due to old age as well. he should be over 80 hamster age and was a proud dad to 4 pups which 3 had crossed over the rainbow. we used to put him together with his older son DOUGHNUT and he was always submissive to him as the latter was bigger in size but once we tried to put him together with his younger son DUMPLING, he was so domineering he almost bit off half of his DUMPLING's cheek! now he shall not suffer anymore as he has joined his family playing over the rainbow forever.
i will always miss you...my dearest greatest survivor DINO.

R.I.P dearest DUFFY.

on the 2nd day of chinese new year, we received a phone message informing us that DUFFY has suddenly crossed over the rainbow to join her younger son, DUMPLING. it might be due to sudden old age heart attack from the loud fireworks as she was very active and behaving normally daily before that. she even put on some weight and her fur was improving after we fed her some vitamins. Despite one of her hind legs was broken from climbling, she was the most active one among her family, always appeared at her cage door chewing at the metal bar when her name was called or during feeding times. she has been a wonderful mother to her 2 sons eventhough she lost her first litter of 2 pups which makes her a mother of 4 hammies. i bought her from a pet store in february 2011 and she was already half grown so that will make her probably over 80 years hammie years.
i will always miss her dearly...my dearest DUFFY.
